Perfume, Explained Like Wine.

Perfume is generally sold by a famous person gazing moodily into the middle distance, with very little said about what is actually in the bottle, which is rather odd when you think about it, given that you are about to put it on your neck. MAAR was started in Spain in 2019 by people who found this faintly absurd, and decided perfume ought to be explained the way wine is: what is in it, where it came from, and why.

The answer, it turns out, is mostly essential oils, and a great many of them, with the colour coming from the fruit and flowers themselves rather than from something added to make it look pretty. Nayla is orange blossom from Nabeul in Tunisia, neroli and a quiet bit of vanilla. The perfume oils in particular stay close to the skin, which is to say they are noticed by the people standing next to you rather than by everyone in the lift.
