We'll be honest, when we first discovered you could turn old bicycle chain spacers into rather fabulous jewellery, we were utterly gobsmacked. These beautifully crafted earrings are handmade in Nottingham by a local artist who has the rather brilliant idea of rescuing forgotten chain parts from local bike repair shops, giving them a proper second life.

Each pair involves painstaking work. The spacers are carefully dismantled, meticulously cleaned of years of accumulated grime, and then assembled with the sort of attention to detail that would make a Swiss watchmaker nod approvingly. The result is quite the showstopper and splendidly lightweight to boot.
