Voice of Heart is a family business that has been making soap in Estonia since 2014, and it does it the slow way. Cold process means the oils are blended at a low temperature rather than cooked, and then the bars are left alone for more than four weeks to cure, which is a very long time to have money sitting on a shelf doing apparently nothing. The reason to bother is that the low temperature leaves the vitamins, nutrients and fatty acids in the oils more or less where they started, instead of driving them off in the name of getting the thing into a box by Friday.

Every clay, oil and aroma in the range is chosen for a particular skin and a particular job: green clay with bergamot for skin that runs oily, an unscented coconut bar for skin that objects to almost everything, a shea butter and lime cream soap for skin that simply wants feeding. Some bars come on a cord, which is a small thing that keeps a bar out of its own puddle and makes it last considerably longer. Beyond the soap there are solid shampoos and conditioners, lip balms, hair brushes and candles, all of which do away with the bottle entirely.
