Shells, Moons and Rather Excellent Teepees.

Moi Mili began with a mother making cushions and decorations for her son, and a great many other parents politely asking whether she might make some for them too. She did. Everything is still made by hand in Poland, in linen, cotton, muslin and velvet, and it's all very difficult to walk past without picking something up. We've tried. It rarely goes well.

Five Walls, Which Is One More Than You'd Expect.

The teepees have five walls and a pentagon-shaped base, which, they'll tell you, makes them roomier and steadier, with rounded pine poles, a little window on one side and cotton or linen covers. Add a matching shell or leaf mat and the corner is done, which is more than can be said for our spare room.

Cushions Worth Getting Up For.

The shell and moon cushions are the showstoppers, closely followed by suns, clouds, stars and hearts. There are play mats, garlands and bedspreads too, and a dressing-up box's worth of capes, crowns and wands for anyone who'd rather be royalty for the afternoon. We would. Most afternoons.
