Eleriin Seim works the other way, making leather and textile bags in South Estonia that reveal themselves slowly, generally to somebody standing close enough to see how the thing was put together. It is a harder brief than being loud, and considerably harder to get credit for.

Pieces are made in five to ten working days rather than pulled off a shelf, in chrome-tanned cowhide, with interchangeable straps and the sort of details that only matter once you have carried something daily for a year. The KOKUKA crossbody takes its shape from a Soviet-era bicycle tool bag, which is not a sentence many handbags can offer.

Colours with rather more nerve than the shapes.

Atlantico, Capri, Citron, Espanol, Forest, Linen, Marrow, Scarlet, Violet and black. The forms stay quiet, the colour does the talking, and the result is restrained without being apologetic about it.
