Brass, In Twenty-Two Colours.

Lisa Kroeber trained as a jewellery and gemstone designer in Idar-Oberstein, the German town that has been cutting stones for about five hundred years, and then moved to Estonia in 2010, which is the sort of decision that makes more sense once you have seen Estonia. The brand still carries her maiden name. The work comes out of a studio in Viljandi, where she designs and makes everything by hand, and her husband handles the cutting and powder-coating with some fairly loud machinery next door.

Folded, and very light.

The best-known collection is Folded: geometric pieces of powder-coated brass, bent into earrings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches, in twenty-two colours and counting. They look substantial and weigh almost nothing, some of the earrings barely a gram each, which is the whole trick of the thing and rather a good one. Hooks and backs are sterling silver, which ears tend to appreciate.
