John Bouridis spent a long time testing grooming formulations in London and arrived at the conclusion most of them deserved, which was that they were not good enough. The men's market in 2014 was offering products that were chemically dubious, ineffective, or managing both at once, so he spent a year making his own and launched Seven Potions in 2015.

Beard oil built on apricot kernel, sweet almond, crambe seed, jojoba and kukui nut with cedarwood and sandalwood over the top, which absorbs properly rather than sitting on the surface looking shiny. A wax for taming the wispy hairs that no amount of willpower will persuade to lie down, with a medium hold that shapes without setting. Beard shampoo and conditioner, pre-shave oil and post-shave balm, hair clay, paste and pomade, a face wash and a hand cream. Everything is vegan and everything is made in England, and there is a grooming set with oil, shampoo and brush if you would rather not assemble it yourself.
