The Baby Gifting Company
New Baby Gifts That Do Not End Up In A Bin.
A mother of three who had seen enough wrapping paper.
Shiba Babamiri started The Baby Gifting Company in 2023 having concluded that baby gifting, for all its good intentions, produces a great deal of waste and rather a lot of things nobody keeps. Her position is that a present for a new baby can be beautiful, useful and built to last all at once, which turns out not to be a controversial idea once somebody bothers to act on it.
Certified, and properly so.
Within a year of launching, the company became a Certified B Corporation with a B Impact score of 94.2, against the 80 required to pass. That involves an outside body going through governance, workers, community, environment and customers, which is a considerably higher bar than a paragraph about values.
Made to be kept.
Personalised keepsake gifts and curated sets for new arrivals, in quality materials, with the packaging chosen on the same terms as the contents. The sort of present still in the house when the baby starts school.
Somebody noticed rather quickly.
Pop-ups at the Bvlgari Hotel, John Lewis on Oxford Street and Bicester Village in the first year, with coverage in Vogue, Tatler, Condé Nast Traveller, Vanity Fair and Glamour. Not bad for a company that did not exist in 2022.
