Wag + Wool
Jumpers for dogs, made with rather more care than most of us put into our own wardrobes.
In fairness to the dogs, they never asked for any of this. Wag & Wool began with two friends, a great deal of devotion to dogs and a growing frustration at how few dog clothes were made from anything worth wearing, and today it is run from Brighton by Debby, whose daughter Toni co-founded it, with two dogs, Monti the Cavapoo and Marlee the Chipoo, firmly in charge. We gather a Chipoo is half Chihuahua and half poodle, and we have not stopped thinking about it since.
Everything is made in England, from British wool by Shepley and merino lambswool by Hinchcliffe, with no acrylic anywhere near it, and there are matching beanies so that owner and dog can leave the house coordinated, which is the sort of thing we privately admire and have never quite had the nerve to attempt. There is a collection with the National Trust for Scotland, castles and Blackface sheep knitted in, and a size guide that takes the measuring very seriously, which, given how most dogs feel about a tape measure, is no small achievement.
For more for the dog, have a browse of our pets and knitwear collections, or carry on to accessories, gifts for her and gifts for him. There are more businesses like this one in family-owned brands, and more close to home in our British-made collection.
