Nidra
Nobody Sees Them, Which Is Rather The Point.
Pyjamas are worn for more hours than almost anything else anybody owns, and are seen by practically nobody, which makes them the one place in a wardrobe where there is genuinely no reason to be sensible. No audience, no dress code, no colleague forming a view. Just zebras. Nidra has worked this out and acted on it with some enthusiasm.
The prints are called Zen to Zzzebra, Nine Lives, Woman's Best Friend and Parrots of the Night, which tells you a good deal about the spirit of the place and rather suggests somebody is enjoying themselves at the naming stage. Nidra means sleep in Sanskrit, and Sonam started the brand from her roots in India and a considerable enthusiasm for pyjamas, which is a more sensible basis for a company than most. The patterns borrow from that heritage without ever tipping into fancy dress, and there are beach co-ords alongside them for anyone disinclined to change out of the whole arrangement before lunch.

There are more businesses like this one in women-led brands, and more good presents in our gifts for her edit.
