Paper Plane

Proof that a bar of soap can have a sense of humour.

Paper Plane began in late 2014 with a handful of Christmas cards, designed, packed and posted from a dining table in Rutland by Laura and Jack, who describe themselves as a happily unmarried couple and share the business with a dog called Dog. The cards did rather well. Prints followed, then mugs, then soap, and the whole operation now lives in a studio in the Rutland countryside, where the jokes are written and, we assume, rigorously tested.

The bath and body range is where things become gloriously silly: Bath Noodles, which are soap in the shape of noodles and every bit as delightful as that sounds, alongside hand-cut soaps and shampoo bars made in the UK. The mugs are hand-pressed in the studio, and the Emergency Dad Jokes mug is easily the most useful thing you can give a father, since it saves him the trouble of thinking up his own. There are kitchen prints too, under the title How To Cook Everything, which is ambitious and we admire it enormously.
