Brass, Stones, And A Good Deal Of Colour.
There is a sort of jewellery designed to be noticed from across a room, and another sort designed to be discovered at close quarters by someone already quite interested in you. Boho Mantra make the first kind, in solid brass set with raw gemstones that have been left more or less as they came out of the ground, on the reasonable grounds that the ground had already done the hard part.
Statement, mostly.
Earrings, pendants, necklaces and bangles, alongside kimonos and sarongs for anybody committing fully to the idea. None of it is subtle, none of it has ever claimed to be, and anyone hoping for a discreet little pendant has arrived at entirely the wrong page.
Raw stones behave differently.
Which is the appeal, and occasionally the difficulty. No two pieces come out the same, the colour wanders about within a batch, and what turns up is the thing that was actually made rather than one of ten thousand that came off the same mould on a wet Tuesday in a factory somewhere.
