Lion & The Pear
Art For Children That Adults Can Live With
Stephanie Breeze spent years designing textiles for other people through her studio before turning to Leo's bedroom and discovering that children's art comes in three varieties: enormous frightening faces, inexplicably sad animals, and things sorted by gender in a manner that stopped being acceptable some time ago. So she picked up her paintbrushes.
Painted, then printed
Every design is hand-drawn and painted using traditional techniques, acrylic and watercolour rather than anything assembled on a screen. Wildlife, nature, storytelling, and a good deal of stripe. Printed onto 270gsm velvet giclée, made to order, and supplied unframed so you can choose.
These Streets
There is also a series of city map prints, watercolour interpretations of places rather than diagrams, which work rather better in a hallway than a poster of the same town ever does.
Not only for children
The prints were designed for a child's room and behave perfectly well outside one, which was rather the point. Neutral enough for a landing, characterful enough that nobody would call it inoffensive.
