Snake Bite Coffee
Roasted in small batches, which is slower than the alternative and, frankly, the whole point.
We will admit the name gave us a moment's pause before the first cup of the morning, which says rather more about our mornings than it does about the coffee. Everything is roasted in small batches in Beverley, with each roast handled by the people who run the place: house blends for the dependable days, single origins for the curious ones, limited editions when something turns up that is too good to keep quiet about, and a decaf for anyone with more self-control than we have ever managed.
What they cannot sell, they give away. Coffee that will not make it into a bag goes to people and groups around Beverley, who turn it into garden compost, put it to use in beekeeping and stir it into exfoliating scrubs, which is a far more distinguished afterlife than our own coffee grounds have ever been granted.
For more for the kitchen, have a browse of our tea and coffee and food hall collections, or carry on to glasses, cups and mugs, kitchen and dining and gifts for him. There are more businesses like this one in small batch, and more close to home in our UK shops.
Visit the Roastery.
The roastery is at Unit D2, Low Works, Grovehill Road, Beverley HU17 0JJ, open six days a week, and leaving with only the one bag is, by all accounts, a good deal harder than it sounds. Find it on Google Maps. There are more shops worth the journey in our visit in person collection, and more by place in shop by location.
