The Glowcery
Skincare From The Greengrocer's, More Or Less.
Roshanne Dorsett trained as a lawyer, worked on criminal and public law cases in East London, and then changed her diet and started reading labels. Having got into the habit with food, she carried on into the bathroom cabinet and did not much like what she found there either. So she took an accredited skincare formulation course, qualified, and built the brand she had been looking for: skincare made from the same cold-pressed fruit, nut and vegetable oils you would recognise from a good greengrocer.
Everything is hand blended in small batches, which is why the colours are real rather than added and the scents come from the plants themselves. The Clean Greens Superfood Serum is the one that made the brand's name, a fast-absorbing facial oil, and there are cleansers, body oils and body butters alongside it. Some of the fruit ingredients are rescued produce that would otherwise have gone to waste, which is a neat piece of logic for a brand built on the idea of feeding skin the way you feed yourself. As seen in Vogue to boot.

There are more businesses like this one in women-led brands and small batch artisans, and more close to home in British brands.
