Alice Acreman Silks
Scarves With All Sorts Of Fabulous Things On Them.
Alice Acreman is an artist who happens to work in silk, which is a different thing from a scarf brand that happens to use artwork. The prints begin as watercolours and collage, and the subjects are odd in the best way: crabs among tulips, toucans, botanical studies that look like they have been lifted from a Victorian field guide and then told to cheer up.
The range runs from large square scarves to skinny twilly styles, silk kimono jackets, hand fans finished with a gold tassel, and cushions in vegan suede for anyone who wants the same illustrations on a sofa rather than round a neck. Prints carry names like Evolution, Crustacean and Panthera, which tells you roughly what you are getting into.
