Kidodido

Birch, a workshop, and a couple who started with their own child.

Olivia and Mel began Kidodido after their son arrived and they went looking for things to do with him indoors. What they could not find they made, and what they made turned into a business: climbing triangles, arches and ramps, learning towers, balance boards, play gyms, bookcases and play mats, in natural birch. It is Montessori-adjacent in the sense that everything is scaled to a child rather than to an adult thinking about one. Browse the full kids play, toys and games edit.

Furniture that happens to be climbable.

The pieces fold, stack or convert, which matters more than it sounds when the alternative is a permanent climbing frame in a room that also has to work as a sitting room. Everything is hand sanded and finished, so no two come out quite the same. Climbing equipment is for supervised use, and the age guidance on each product should be followed. Made by two people, which you can tell.

A small family operation, which places it among our family-owned brands. Find something for a birthday in our baby and kids gifts edit, browse the wider baby and kids collection or everyone we stock in the brand directory, or read the stories behind the work in the journal.
