Brix + Bailey Originals
We drew it. Then we put it on a lampshade.
And then, having started, on rather a lot of other things. Everything here began as one of our own drawings, in pencil and paint, before anyone had decided what it was for. Some of them sat in the archive for years being no use to anybody, which seemed a waste of a perfectly good drawing.
What we have put them on so far.
Lampshades, in velvet, linen and cotton, for table lamps and ceiling pendants. Cushions, because a pattern that works on a shade tends to work on a sofa. Ceramics, where the same drawing behaves completely differently on a curved surface. Art prints of the original illustrations, unaltered, for anyone who would rather have the drawing than the thing it became. And tea towels, which is where most designers end up eventually and we see no reason to pretend otherwise.
Made after you ask, not before.
Nothing here exists until somebody orders it. Yours is printed and made up in Britain once you have chosen it, which takes a few days longer than pulling something off a shelf. It also means there is no warehouse of unsold shades, and no slightly panicked sale in six months because we accidentally ordered four thousand.
The only things on this site we drew ourselves.
Everything else on Brix + Bailey comes from one of the independent brands we stock, and we would rather they had the attention. This is the small corner that is ours. It sits alongside our British brands, since that is what it is, and the rest of the home and decor edit.
