Baltic Brands

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Three countries, one very good eye.

The Baltic states make things on the assumption that you will notice the details without being told to. Clean lines, honest materials, very little shouting. Leather workshops in Tallinn and Tartu, felt and wool studios, ceramics, natural cosmetics and small ateliers turning out bags, jewellery and homeware in numbers you could count. Browse the wider European brands collection or explore the rest of the map via shop by location.

Baltic, not Scandinavian. A distinction worth making.

The two get mixed up constantly, partly because the design language rhymes and partly because "Nordic" is the word people reach for. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have their own craft traditions and their own reasons for being unusually good at leather, linen and wool. If it is Danish, Swedish or Norwegian you are after, that lives in Scandinavian brands. Everything here is Baltic.

Independent, small batch, and often women led

Many of these brands are run by the person whose name is above the door, in workshops rather than factories, producing in short runs because that is the scale the work suits. Browse women-led brands, small batch production, or the family-owned edit.

Where a sustainability claim appears, it is a specific one

Several brands here build from what already exists: offcuts from a felt factory, leftover leather from overproduction, the last hide of a colour abandoned on a shelf. Others repair and service every piece they have made. We set out what each brand actually does on its own page rather than making one promise on behalf of all of them. Explore sustainable brands and the resell, upcycled and vintage edit, look through bags, jewellery, bath, body and cosmetics and home and lifestyle, browse by purpose, or read the stories behind the work in the journal.

Sorry, there are no products in this collection

If you're making something rather good, we'd love to hear about it.

We're selective. In the nicest possible way.
