Lithuanian Linen, Made For Actually Using.

Lithuania has been growing flax and weaving linen for longer than most countries have had a name for it, and Linen Tales is a Vilnius family business that decided the tradition deserved a rather more modern set of colours. It started as a small shop in the old town and now makes bedding, table linen, kitchen textiles and clothing, all made in Lithuania, and all of it intended to be used every day rather than saved for a visiting aunt.

Softer than linen has any right to be.

Traditional linen has a reputation for being crisp to the point of hostility. Theirs is washed until it softens, in colours from the expected oatmeal to ones you would not associate with a tablecloth at all. The fabric is certified European Flax, a mark covering where the flax is grown, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which covers what ends up in contact with your skin.

Linen Tales keep two shops in the old town of Vilnius, one devoted to linen and the other a shop and café, where you can look at the bedding with a coffee in hand and a slice of cake making the case for staying longer.
