Kuishi
Refillable glass dispensers from Falmouth. And a brand honest enough to mention the plastic bit.
Kuishi makes refillable soap dispensers, spray bottles and storage jars in glass, on the straightforward theory that a bathroom shelf looks better without a row of plastic bottles on it. Stephanie founded the company in Falmouth in 2018 and still runs it from there.
It started in a garage.
By her own account, orders were wrapped and packed in the garage by day and the living room by night, then carried down to the local post office. There are now two distribution centres, one in the UK and one in France. Falmouth has stayed put throughout, which is less common than it sounds once a business gets past the garage.
Certified, and by whom.
Kuishi is a Certified B Corporation, certified by B Lab in 2024. Where a brand holds a certification we name it on its own page, with the certifying body attached. The rest of the environmental arithmetic we leave to Kuishi's own site, which sets it out at considerable length.
The plastic bit.
On its own product pages, Kuishi notes that each stainless steel pump contains a small internal plastic component, there to stop corrosion. A brand whose entire reason for existing is removing single-use plastic, telling you about the plastic it has not managed to remove, on the product page rather than in a footnote somewhere. That is the sort of thing we look for. Kuishi states the glass carries up to 45% recycled content, and the pumps come with a twelve month guarantee.
