Eva Oherjus is an Estonian milliner who went to London in 2009 to study fashion design, discovered hats instead, and has been making headpieces ever since. Every crystal and pearl is hand-embroidered onto silk, one at a time, which accounts for both the hours involved and the fact that nobody else at the wedding will be wearing one.

Mulberry silk, dupioni, and a great many small shiny things.

The crowns and headbands are built on Mulberry and dupioni silk, embellished with crystals, freshwater and baroque pearls and beadwork, and finished with small hair combs because a richly decorated crown has real opinions about gravity. Each arrives in a hardcover hat box, which is as it should be.

Made after you order it.

Production starts once the order is placed, so each piece is made by hand and varies slightly from the last one. That is the nature of the thing rather than a defect, and anyone wanting two identical crowns has misunderstood the entire proposition.
