Most outdoor brands say their gear is tough. Galvi-Linda have been making backpacks, clothing and equipment for the Estonian Defence Forces since the 1990s, which means theirs has been carried by people who complain loudly and in writing when something fails. Everything is designed and produced in Estonia.

Cordura, mostly, and very little else.

The bags are built from Cordura, the fabric used for workwear and military kit, and the construction is deliberately plain: big compartments, strong zips, carry handles where your hand actually goes. There is no styling to speak of, which turns out to be the styling.

Patrol packs, duffels and a trauma bag.

The range runs from 60-litre hiking packs down to travel bags and drop pouches, in black and military green, with model numbers rather than names. Anyone who has spent money on a bag with a name and then watched a seam go will understand the appeal.
