Nofi Kids makes indoor swings by hand in Tartu, Estonia, a brand started by a mother of two girls. There's the HopOn for bigger children and the BaBi for little ones who can already sit up on their own, both in soft Nordic shades chosen so they can stay out on show rather than be bundled into a toy box. Frankly, it's more presentable than half the furniture in our house.

The swings hang from a ceiling beam in a playroom or living room, with fixings for wooden and concrete ceilings, so the fun carries on indoors whatever the weather is doing. In Tartu in January, that matters a great deal. It matters in most of Britain in June, too.
