The Only Garment Bought Purely For Somebody Else's Amusement.

Nobody has ever needed a badger on their ankle.

And yet. Socks occupy a peculiar corner of a wardrobe: entirely hidden for most of the day, then briefly and completely visible the moment you take your shoes off in somebody else's house. The stakes are low and the judgement is immediate.

Bamboo, merino and organic cotton.

Which is where the actual difference lies. Bamboo viscose is soft and handles a long day rather well. Merino regulates temperature and can be worn considerably longer than politeness suggests. Organic cotton is the everyday one. The fibre matters more than the pattern, though nobody has ever bought a pair on that basis.

Several of these do a second job.

The reinforced heel is the tell.

A sock without one goes at the heel within a month, which is why cheap socks are bought perpetually and good ones are not. Look for it, then stop thinking about socks for a couple of years.
