Where The Personalisation Is The Whole Point.
The trouble with most personalised gifts is that the personalising happens last, a name added to something generic in order to justify another fifteen pounds. Treat Republic was started in 2012 by somebody who had gone looking for personalised presents they would actually be willing to hand over, failed, and decided to design from the other direction. The piece is built around the engraving rather than the engraving being applied to the piece, which sounds like a small distinction and is in fact the entire difference.
Everything is designed and finished in-house by a team of makers in a Hertfordshire studio. The range is enormous, running from engraved jewellery and leather bracelets through keepsake boxes, homeware, glassware, wedding and baby gifts, with collaborations bringing in Cross pens and LSA glass for the pieces that want a bit more weight behind them. Personalisation comes as standard rather than as a surcharge, which is refreshingly sensible.
