British Brands

From London To Edinburgh, And A Good Deal In Between

Better health than the high street suggests

British independent making is in considerably better shape than the shopping streets imply, largely because so much of it happens in small workshops that never needed a shopping street. This collection brings together independently owned brands from all four nations, across fashion, jewellery, homeware and food. Have a browse through new arrivals, or work through the map via shop by location.

Across all four nations

London atelier fashion, independent jewellery, homeware studios and artisan food producers, from operations mostly small enough that whoever designed the thing also made it. There are women-led brands, family-owned businesses, and the resell, upcycled and vintage edit for brands making rather good use of what everyone else threw out. Where a brand holds a certification we name it on its own page.

Shop British. Shop independently.

For a wider view there are European brands and American brands, something to give in our gifts edit, and a way to browse by purpose if you would rather start from what a brand stands for. Everyone we stock is in the brand directory, and the stories are in the editorial.

If you're making something rather good, we'd love to hear about it.

We're selective. In the nicest possible way.
