Anatomē

The Apothecary, Rebuilt.

Anatomē was founded in London in 2018 by Brendan Murdock, who had already built the men's grooming brand Murdock London and evidently concluded that was not complicated enough. The idea was to take the apothecary, a format that had gone quietly extinct somewhere around the invention of the pharmacy aisle, and rebuild it for people who would rather have a considered product than a shelf of promises. Essential oil blends, bath salts, pillow sprays, functional parfums and home fragrance, made in small batches. Start in Bath, Body + Cosmetics.

Scent, Studied

The house discipline is aromachology, the study of scent and its effects, and the range is organised around moments rather than ailments. Before sleep. Before concentration. In the bath. At the end of a long Tuesday. Roman chamomile, cardamom, black pepper. Find the fragrance side in Candles + Home Fragrance and gift sets in Gifts.

Visit The Marylebone Shop

Anatomē keeps a shop on Chiltern Street, which is worth going into rather than ordering from, because the in-house nutritionists and sleep specialists run consultations and blending sessions and will happily talk you through the difference between one oil and another. There are further branches in Islington and Chelsea and a counter inside Liberty. Find the Marylebone shop at 16 Chiltern Street, London W1U 7PZ, open daily. More like it in our UK Shops collection and across our British Brands, with further reading in the Journal.

If you're making something rather good, we'd love to hear about it.

We're selective. In the nicest possible way.
