01

Shipping & Delivery

Everything comes straight from the brand that made it. Short answers below, full detail on our Shipping and Delivery page.

Once dispatched: 2 to 4 working days in the UK, 5 to 10 across Europe, 7 to 14 everywhere else. Before dispatch it depends on the brand, and occasionally on how long it takes them to make yours. The product page will tell you what to expect.
Each brand sets its own, based on where they are, where you are, and what they are sending. You will see the exact figure at checkout before you pay. We do not do free shipping: postage costs money, and a marketplace that pretends otherwise is either squeezing the brand or quietly burying it in the price.
Because shipping is worked out per brand. Order from three and you will pay three delivery charges and receive three parcels, each packed by the people who made what is inside. Your order confirmation lists what is coming from where, and each parcel gets its own tracking.
Worldwide. If your country is not showing at checkout, email mail@brixbailey.com and we will see what can be arranged. A few things cannot travel, usually for size, weight or customs reasons: furniture, mirrors, large ceramics and substantial lighting are the usual suspects. The product page or checkout will say so before you get your hopes up. Electrical items may also arrive with the plug of the country they came from, so an adapter may be in your future.
International orders may attract duties or import taxes. These are set by your own customs authority rather than by us, they are not included in the price at checkout, and they are payable by you. Your courier will normally be in touch before they deliver. One thing worth knowing: if a parcel is refused and comes back to the brand, the original shipping cost comes off your refund.
A tracking number arrives by email as each brand dispatches. It can take a day to go live, couriers being couriers. You can also watch its progress in your account.
Give it the full estimated window first. We can only chase once the last working day has passed, since couriers do occasionally run a day or two behind. After that, email mail@brixbailey.com with your order number and we will pursue both the brand and the courier on your behalf.
Email mail@brixbailey.com immediately and we will do what we can. Once a parcel has gone, redirecting is not always possible, so it is worth checking before you press the button.
They deliver to your door and no further. For anything substantial, line up a willing pair of hands and do measure your doorways first: many have not. Flatpack furniture and anything requiring hardwiring will need assembly, and the product page will warn you. Couriers do not assemble. Nobody has ever persuaded one.

Returns & Refunds

Something not right? Here is the short version. The full policy, including the few things we cannot take back, is on our Returns and Refunds page.

30 days from the day your order arrives to tell us you would like to return it, then a further 14 days to post it back. That is longer than the law requires, and long enough to establish that the lamp really is the wrong shade of green.
Email mail@brixbailey.com with your order number and the item you would like to send back. We will reply as soon as we can with the return address and anything specific the brand needs. Please do not post anything before we have confirmed the address: parcels go back to the studio they shipped from, which may well be in another country.
You do, unless the item arrived faulty, damaged or simply not what you ordered, in which case we cover everything. Use a tracked service and hold on to your proof of postage. The parcel is your responsibility until it arrives safely.
Not directly, and here is why: every brand ships from its own studio or workshop, so a straightforward exchange would mean a parcel crossing the country twice before you saw anything. Return what you have and place a new order. Rather more sensible than it sounds.
Within 14 days of the goods reaching the brand, or of you sending us proof of postage, whichever comes first. It goes back to the card or account you paid with. If it has not appeared, email mail@brixbailey.com and we will chase it.
A few things, and not us being difficult: these are the items a brand genuinely cannot resell once opened or worn. Pierced jewellery once the hygiene seal is broken. Underwear, swimwear and hosiery unless the hygiene strip is intact and the packaging unopened. Skincare, beauty and fragrance unless unopened with every seal intact. Food, drink and plants, for reasons we hope are obvious. Anything personalised or made to order. Footwear needs to come back unworn and unmarked in its original box, so do try shoes on a carpet rather than a pavement. The full list is on our Returns and Refunds page.
Different situation entirely, and we cover the cost. Email mail@brixbailey.com with your order number, a photograph and a short description. We will arrange the return and either refund you or organise a replacement, at no cost to you. If a fault appears later rather than on arrival, still tell us: your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 run well beyond our return window.
Allow up to 72 hours for everything to be processed, since different parcels arrive at different times. Refunds from different brands may land separately too. All perfectly normal.
03

Orders & Payment

Placing orders, paying for them, and the occasional discount code that refuses to behave.

Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and Union Pay, plus PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Klarna and Bancontact. Not every method is available in every country, so what you see at checkout is what your location supports.
Yes, where it is available in your country. Choose it at checkout and Klarna's own terms and eligibility checks apply from that point on.
No. The figure at checkout is the figure you pay, delivery included. The one exception is international orders, where your own customs authority may charge duties or import taxes separately. More on that in Shipping and Delivery above.
Email mail@brixbailey.com as soon as you can with your order number and we will do what we can. Once a brand has packed and dispatched, we cannot change it, but you can send it back under our 30-day returns policy.
At checkout, type it into the "Discount code" field and select Apply. The total updates before you pay.
Three usual culprits. Check the spelling, including capitals. Check the expiry date on the email it arrived in. And check the terms: some codes exclude particular brands or sale items. Still stuck? Email mail@brixbailey.com with a screenshot of your basket and we will sort it.
04

Products & Sizing

Finding the right fit, and understanding what our brands actually make.

On the product page, which is where most brands put their size guide. If what you need is not there, email mail@brixbailey.com and we will ask them directly. Worth doing before you order rather than after: returns cost the brand postage twice over.
On the product page where they apply, and many brands tuck a care card into the parcel as well. If you cannot find them, email us and we will get them for you.
Brands photograph their own work and take some care over it, but colour can shift a little from screen to screen. If you want a straight answer about a particular piece, email us and we will ask.
Often, yes. Plenty of our brands take commissions. Email mail@brixbailey.com with what you have in mind and we will put it to them, along with likely cost and timing. One thing to know first: made-to-order and personalised pieces cannot be returned.
Email mail@brixbailey.com with the product name and your question. The brand knows their own work better than anyone, so we will ask them and come back to you.

Working With Brands

How we work with the brands we carry, and how to join them.

Not through the site, no. Email mail@brixbailey.com with your question and we will put it to them and come back to you. You can have a browse through everyone we carry in our brand directory.
Yes to both, and to their own product descriptions. Returns are the exception: there is one Brix + Bailey returns policy and it applies to every brand on the site. The detail is on our Returns and Refunds page.
We would like to hear from you. Start with why sell with us, then apply to join. Every application is read personally.
Craft, originality, quality, and a genuine point of view. We are particularly fond of ethical and sustainable brands, and of bricks-and-mortar shops that deserve a proper home online. The longer answer is on how we choose brands.

About Brix + Bailey

Who we are and how the marketplace works.

We are building the platform we wished had existed, largely because we have spent over a decade running an independent brand ourselves and know precisely where it hurts. The longer version is on who we are.
Three ways. By purpose, for ethical, sustainable, B Corp, women-led and small-batch brands. By location, if you would rather buy closer to home. Or simply by category, through the main menu.
Not our own, but a good number of our brands have shops and studios you are very welcome in. Have a browse through visit in person.
Sign up to the newsletter at the foot of any page. New brands, launches and the occasional rather good idea, and nothing like as often as you fear.
07

Account & Technical

Accounts, emails, and the occasional website that misbehaves.

No, you can check out as a guest. An account simply means you can track orders, save things you like, and not type your address out again next time.
Select the account icon at the top of any page, then Create account. You can also create one on your way through checkout.
Choose "Forgot password" on the login page and we will email you a reset link. Do check your spam folder if it has not arrived within a few minutes.
Log in and open Account settings to update your email, password, addresses and preferences.
There is an unsubscribe link at the foot of every email we send. Or email mail@brixbailey.com and we will take you off the list. No hard feelings.
Try refreshing, then clearing your browser cache. If it persists, email mail@brixbailey.com with what you were doing and which browser you are using, and we will look into it.
Email mail@brixbailey.com and we will close your account and delete your personal data. One thing we cannot delete: order and payment records, which we are required to keep for a set period for tax and accounting purposes. Everything else goes.
