Katrin Valgemäe is a painter in Tallinn whose work pulls you in on beauty and then makes you slightly uncomfortable about having been pulled in. Classical technique, pop and camp sensibility, figures that are decorative until you look properly. The paintings then end up on aprons, oven mitts and sweatshirts, which is a considerably better joke than putting them on a gallery wall.

The range runs to aprons, pot holders and oven gloves, alongside heavy cotton tees, hoodies, sweatshirts and a folding umbrella, all carrying her original paintings. Series titles include Meta-Absinthe and Bitches and Poodles, which gives a reasonable indication of the register.
