Little Loua began in Belgium when its founder, expecting her first child, went looking for a mobile to hang above the cot and found the choice thoroughly uninspiring. She made her own instead, and every one since has been put together by hand from felt figures, thread and wooden rings, which means no two ever come out quite identical.
The designs run from safari animals and llamas to soft, simple shapes, in colours chosen to sit quietly in a room rather than shout across it, and there are wooden arms and stands to hang them from. They are the sort of thing that gets kept long after the cot itself has gone to someone else.
