Blissli

Forty hours of burn, and they will tell you what that costs per hour.

Blissli make vegan soy candles and wax melts, hand-poured in small batches. The 220g jar runs to roughly forty hours and they publish the cost per hour on the product page, which comes to about 55p. It is a small thing and a slightly odd one to advertise, and it is also the only number that actually tells you whether a candle is expensive. More in our candles and home fragrance edit.

They publish the allergens.

Every product page carries the full allergen list, named compound by named compound, with a safety data sheet available on request. Most fragrance brands put that in a PDF nobody opens. Putting it next to the buy button is a decision, and it is the sort we take as a good sign.

And they publish the flaws.

When a batch comes out imperfect it goes into a seconds sale, with the specific fault described and photographed on each listing so you know exactly what you are getting. Half price, and no pretending. That is a rarer quality in a candle company than any of the usual adjectives. Sits well alongside our small batch and British brands.
