Giving Back
Shopping That Gives Something Back.
Good design and doing some good are not opposing forces, though a surprising quantity of retail behaves as though choosing one means apologising for the other. The brands here have built giving into how the business works rather than into how it talks: a share of profits to a named cause, a partnership with a particular charity, a contribution per item sold, support for the places they make things in.
A mechanism, not a sentiment.
What these brands have in common is arithmetic. Trees planted per order. Land protected per sale. A defined range whose profits go somewhere specific and stated. A difference that can be counted is considerably more useful than one that can only be felt, and a good deal harder to fake.
The detail sits on each brand's page.
Fashion, homeware, accessories and food, giving to wildlife protection, reforestation, community support and education. What each brand actually gives is written on its own page rather than folded into a collective claim on this one, which is the only honest way to do it.
