ROOSI Traditional Toys

Wooden Dollhouses Made by an Estonian Family Since 2001, and Built to Outlast the Children

ROOSI Traditional Toys is a family-owned Estonian workshop that has been making wooden toys since 2001, back before "heirloom quality" became something brands merely said. The speciality is dollhouses: proper wooden villas with rooms worth furnishing, along with the miniature furniture to fill them, from kitchen sets to bedroom suites, and a supporting cast of building blocks and animal toys for the younger residents.

Made in Estonia, and made when you order it

Everything is made in Estonia, often by hand, and production takes up to seven working days because your toy is made when you order it rather than lifted from a warehouse shelf. Every toy meets the EN-71 European toy safety standard, which is the boring sentence that matters most to anyone buying for a small child. Wood, of course, has the useful property of surviving both enthusiastic play and the passage of enough time to reach the next child in line.

The part they do not shout about

Each year, ROOSI donates a complete dollhouse set to one of Estonia's large families, and the firm has also given to Tartu Children's Hospital. It is a quiet kind of generosity, done at home, which we think says rather a lot about who is doing the making.
