Bedroom
A third of your life, furnished as an afterthought.
Bedrooms get the leftovers. The lamp that did not suit the sitting room, bedding bought in a hurry, a chair that holds clothes. Which is a strange allocation of effort for the room you spend most hours in, admittedly with your eyes shut. This collection is bedding, blankets and throws, cushions, bedside lighting, mirrors and the furniture that has to hold everything, from independently owned brands. Browse new arrivals or the wider home and lifestyle collection.
Start with what touches you.
Natural fibre bedding, blankets and throws in linen, cotton and wool, which behave differently and are worth choosing between deliberately rather than by colour. Linen softens over years and never quite stops creasing. Wool regulates temperature in both directions. Cotton percale is crisp and cotton sateen is not. Add cushions in weights that survive being sat against every evening.
Then the light, then everything else.
Bedside lighting has one job, which is to work at eleven at night rather than at noon. After that: mirrors and clocks, furniture, wall art for the wall you actually look at, and candles and home fragrance if the room needs an argument for going to bed earlier.
The room nobody else sees.
Which is rather the point of getting it right. Find something to give in our gifts edit, see everyone we stock in the brand directory, or read the stories behind the work in the editorial.
