The framed pieces here look like embroidery. Suzani work, stitched and knotted, with visible thread and raised texture, and the reaction from people standing in front of one is reliably the same: they lean in, then lean in further, then look faintly cheated. They are prints, reproduced in enough detail that you can see the twist of the thread and the weave beneath it. One customer described it as the print playing tricks on her eyes, which is exactly right and exactly the point.
Around the artwork sits a range of homeware in the same spirit. Cushions in square, rectangular and lumbar shapes, in patterns called Bobbin, Suzani, Eden, Tulip and Mallary, all bold repeats and confident colour. Linen tablecloths, napkins, scalloped placemats, cutlery pockets and candle holders for the table. Everything is designed and made in the UK, and the framing is done to order if you want something other than the standard. It is the second interiors business for its founders, who ran an award-winning interior design and staging company before this, which explains why it all hangs together so well.
