Pencil Marks, Without Ruining the Doorframe.

Every family has a doorframe somewhere with pencil marks up it, and every family eventually moves house and leaves the doorframe behind. Little Harri growth charts are the portable version: a tall panel that hangs on the wall, takes a marker line on each birthday, and comes with you when you go. They are made by a family business in Estonia that has been doing precisely this for about ten years.

The designs run from woodland animals and polar bears to tractors, retro cars and animal tracks, printed on a wipeable fabric that stands up to felt-tip, with wooden slats top and bottom and a string to hang it from. Mount it fifteen centimetres off the floor, as the instructions insist, and the numbers will be right for as long as anyone is still willing to stand against it.
