Mellow Concept Store is run by two sisters, one of whom designs the clothing while the rest of the family turns its hands to the sheepskin, and between them they make everything by hand in Poland and Switzerland. It is, in the nicest possible way, a family affair, and it shows in the detail: generous cuts, natural wool and the kind of finishing that suggests a seam has been discussed, at some length, over more than one family dinner.
The oversized jacket is cut from pure white wool and lined in burgundy silk and cotton, with two deep front pockets and a zipped one inside for the things you would prefer not to lose. It is loose enough to go over a chunky jumper without a fight and smart enough for almost anywhere. Beyond that, the family makes sheepskin and wool coats and mittens for grown-ups and babies, rugs and stool covers for the home and, rather wonderfully, beds, mats and little coats for dogs, so nobody in the house need feel left out.
