Helen Anthony make blazers, waistcoats, overcoats and suits for men and women, cut with a good deal more character than the category usually permits. Peak lapels, shawl lapels, pinstripe, houndstooth, tweed, and colour used with intent rather than caution. This is tailoring for people who would rather not disappear into a room.

Fabrics designed in-house

Which is unusual, and the reason the checks and stripes do not look like anybody else's. Most brands at this level select cloth. Designing it is a different undertaking and considerably more work.

The flagship occupies three floors in Mayfair, with a bespoke service and appointments for anyone having something made properly. A jacket that costs what these cost should be tried on, and preferably by somebody who knows where a shoulder ought to sit.
