The Marshmallow Factory
It Started With A Staff Buffet
Somebody brought marshmallows to the office
In 2014 Ollie Brookes was working for a utilities company in Lincoln when staff were asked to bring something to a Halloween buffet. He turned up with marshmallows he had made at home. They went down rather better than anything else on the table, and he and his brother Joseph started a company on the strength of it.
Not the ones from the supermarket
Handmade in Lincoln, in flavours that go a good deal further than pink and white: Jaffa Cake, mint humbug, gingerbread. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The texture is the giveaway, since a proper marshmallow holds together over a flame rather than collapsing into it.
Built for toasting
The toasting gift sets and s'mores kits are the ones that made their name, along with an advent calendar that sells out annually. Their boxes arrive branded The Naked Marshmallow Co, which is the same people and the same marshmallows.
