Zatchels has been making proper leather bags in Leicester since 2011, and does it the old way: a small, independent workshop where real people cut, stitch and buckle every single bag to order, using premium leather from UK tanneries and hardware, threads and components from British suppliers. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. Your bag does not exist until you ask for it, and then it takes up to ten working days, because that is how long doing it properly takes. The satchel, reinvented without being ruined
The classic satchel comes in four sizes and a frankly indecent nineteen colours, hand-stitched with buckle fastenings as standard. Around it has grown a proper family: saddle bags with twist locks, bowler bags, backpacks, crossbody styles, micro and midi satchels, and festival phone bags for travelling light. There are cheerful limited runs too, from the Union Jack collection to the Kaleidoscope pieces, for those who feel brown has had rather a long innings.
