Most Wallpaper Is Mostly Plastic
Which nobody mentions, because paper is in the name.
James, Becky and Jason spent years inside the wallpaper industry before starting Bobbi Beck in 2021, and what they had all noticed was the same thing: a great deal of what reaches the shelf is 80% or more PVC, printed with unpleasant inks, and impossible to recycle. Customers hear the word paper and reasonably assume otherwise.
So they built a studio in Cornwall and did it differently
Every roll designed in-house, printed to order, and packed by hand. Nothing is held in a warehouse, which means nothing is thrown away at the end of a season. The studio is BREEAM certified and runs on renewable energy, the paper is FSC certified, and the inks hold Greenguard Gold certification for indoor air quality.
Thirteen tonnes, and they say so
Bobbi Beck publish their annual carbon output, which in 2024 was thirteen tonnes, and offset it through Gold Standard projects. They also point out, on their own website, that plenty of companies buy carbon neutral status without reducing anything first. A brand volunteering the flaw in its own claim is not something we come across often.
