Jo Foster spent years in London advertising and then running her own consultancy, which is to say years of deadlines, aeroplanes and a bedtime that kept moving. By forty she had concluded that the evenings were the part of the day worth reclaiming, went back to the Yorkshire countryside, and in 2014 launched a range built entirely around the hours after the lights go off. Almost every other beauty brand is designed for the morning. This one has the nights to itself.
It is built on four essential oil blends, each with its own character: Love, on rose, frankincense, palmarosa and ylang ylang; Glow, on orange, geranium, myrrh and litsea; Calm, on jasmine, chamomile and sandalwood; and Dream, on lavender, bergamot, cedarwood and chamomile. From those come bath oils that double as body oils, face oils, and home fragrance, so the whole wind-down can run on one scent. Everything is made in the UK, suitable for vegans, and certified by the Leaping Bunny programme.
