Anorak
Named after the sort of person who knows a great deal about one thing, which in this case is prints.
In fairness to them, they get asked about the name all the time. An anorak is someone who becomes an expert in the thing they love, whether badges, birds, trains or planes, and here it is prints. It is also a waterproof coat, which suits a pair with a weakness for the outdoors, and a word with a pleasingly eccentric Britishness to it. Matt and Laurie say it simply felt right, so they went with it, which is a more decisive naming process than most and a considerably shorter one than ours.
The prints, kissing foxes, lobsters, crabs and forest wolves among them, come out of their studio in Dulwich and go onto towels, pyjamas, tops, dresses, retro sleeping bags, coir doormats and picnic blankets, the last made by a group of British factories they have worked with for more than ten years. The towels are a weighty 580 gsm, and some from their original Kissing Hedgehogs collection, more than a decade old, are still going strong in their own cupboard, which is more than can be said for anything in ours.
For more for the towel cupboard, have a browse of our bathroom and bedding, blankets and throws collections, or carry on to camping and hiking, loungewear and sleepwear and tops and shirts. There are more businesses like this one in the full list of brands we carry, and more by place in shop by location.
