Everything For Christmas, Except The Willpower To Start Early.
Christmas is the one time of year when it is perfectly acceptable to light candles at four in the afternoon, put a small tree somewhere entirely unnecessary, and announce, with total confidence, that this year every present will be wrapped by the twentieth. We have never once managed that last part. We remain optimistic, however, and have filled this collection with everything required to at least look as though we did.
There are decorations with a bit of character, the sort that get unwrapped every December to small cries of recognition, candles for the long evenings, generous throws and cushions for the sofa you will not be leaving until January, and enough soft lighting to make the whole house glow. Whether your taste runs to classic red and gold or something calmer and more Scandinavian, everything here has been chosen for being well made and quietly delightful, rather than for shouting the loudest.
It is also, of course, the season of presents, which is where we can be genuinely useful. Our gifts for her, gifts for him and baby + kids gifts are a very good place to start, and there is chocolate and good tea + coffee for the people who are impossible to buy for, which in our experience is most of the family.
