White Rabbit Skincare
It Started In A Kitchen In Ayrshire
Diagnosed with psoriasis in 2014, Melanie went looking for skincare she was comfortable using and found the natural options either disappointing or vague. So she started making her own at her kitchen table in Kilmarnock, inspired by old apothecary gardens, and White Rabbit grew out of that. She still runs it.
Made by hand, in a unit in the west of Scotland
Everything is crafted, packaged and labelled by hand by a female-led team, in small batches. Because the ingredients are unrefined and unprocessed, no two batches ever look quite the same, which is the sort of thing a factory would consider a fault and a maker considers the evidence.
Certified by people who check
PETA certified vegan and cruelty free, plus Cruelty Free International, the Orangutan Alliance, Made in Britain and the Naturewatch Foundation. Packaging is bamboo and aluminium and very nearly plastic free, with the remaining fraction a stated work in progress rather than a rounding error nobody mentions.
The name
Melanie is vegan and passionate about animals, so the rabbit is deliberate, white for the obvious reasons. And, as she puts it, who does not love Alice in Wonderland.
