Nordic Skincare That Refuses To Stay Nordic.

Usva is a family business working out of a small workshop in Lohja, an hour or so from Helsinki, and it does something faintly heretical for a Nordic natural skincare brand: it declines to limit itself to Nordic plants. Arctic berries and birch sit alongside botanicals from the rainforest and from across East Asia, on the reasonable view that plants grown in wildly different conditions have wildly different things to offer and there is no prize for staying at home. Usva means mist, which is about right for a brand that came out of one place and went looking in several others.

Everything is handmade in small batches and sent out from the workshop rather than sitting in a warehouse, and the products are made to the ISO 16128 standard for 100% natural cosmetics, which is the sort of specificity we like a great deal more than the usual adjectives. The line is vegan, which in their case also rules out the beeswax and carmine that many certified natural brands quietly permit. The Soft Glow exfoliant was named best exfoliant of 2025 by Eeva, Finland's largest magazine, and the Wild Fruit Oil Serum is built on cold-pressed fruit oils carrying about as much beta-carotene as anything growing.
