Candles From a Family in Hebden Bridge, Building a Legacy One Wick at a Time
Wolf & Wilde began in 2019 with an ambition rather grander than candles: to build a family business worth handing down to the next generation. The candles are how they are going about it. From their corner of Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire, the family makes scented candles, wax melts, reed diffusers, incense and even car air fresheners by hand, priced fairly, which they consider a point of principle rather than a marketing angle. We are inclined to agree.
Honest wax, and honestly about the wax
The candles are made to a vegan standard with eco-friendly wax, a blend of 70% rapeseed oil, scented with grade 1 fragrance oils that contain essential oils, and produced in the UK with ingredients responsibly sourced where possible. Nothing is tested on animals, and the brand explicitly sources away from modern slavery, the sort of line most candle companies never think to write down. The wax melts deserve a mention of their own: heated on a burner, they outlast a candle and throw a stronger scent, for those who want the fragrance to lead the room.

For the wick-averse, the reed diffusers work quietly in the background, and there is a handpicked library of over thirty pure essential oils and blends for building your own rituals. Evocative scents, natural ingredients, and the attention to detail you get when the people making it plan to be at it for generations.
