Bees + Blooms
Somewhere soft to disappear to, which is all any of us want, really.
Children, it turns out, do their best playing somewhere soft. The parents and creative people behind bees&blooms worked this out and built a whole range around it: cocoon swings, quilted floor cushions and other soft furnishings meant to be climbed into, flopped onto and actually lived with, rather than photographed once and admired from the doorway. We find the whole idea very sensible and, if we are honest, slightly enviable.
The cocoon swing is the star of the show. It hangs from the ceiling in soft corduroy with a plush cushion at the bottom, suits children from three years old and holds up to 80 kg, and turns any corner of a child's room into a reading nook or a quiet place to sway when the day has been rather a lot. The shades are calm enough for a grown-up house, sage green, graphite and cotton white among them, plus a cow print for anyone who feels a hideaway ought to have some personality. The swings are made in Poland and arrive with their cushion and a ceiling hook.
The quilted floor cushions come in three sizes and are thick enough to turn any patch of floor into a reading spot, a play mat or a landing pad. Put one under the swing and you have the beginnings of a small, very comfortable kingdom, which is roughly what every child has in mind anyway.
