High Teas London has been selling loose leaf tea since 2008, which is long enough to have watched several waves of tea fashion arrive, get very excited about themselves and depart again. It is family run, and since 2019 the business has been in the hands of Simon and Anne, who share the same specific obsession with freshness that started it.
Rare things and classics, in roughly equal measure.
The range spans black, green, white, oolong and herbal, from single origin Assam to blends built for a particular time of day. Every tea is packed by hand in small batches, which is the only sensible way to treat a leaf whose entire appeal is aroma.
No special equipment required.
Loose leaf has a reputation for demanding ceremony. It does not. An infuser and a kettle will do, and brewing instructions come with every tea, so the only real decision is which one.
